The Tobin Project is now accepting applications for our 2018 Graduate Student Fellowship and Workshops from doctoral and professional students conducting research on real-world problems related to our National Security and Institutions of Democracy initiatives.
The Tobin Project seeks exceptional individuals to join our collaborative and entrepreneurial team. We are currently accepting applications to the following positions: Research Analyst, Economic Inequality Research Analyst, and Case Writer. Research Analysts work with leading social scientists and Tobin Project staff on a range of projects related to our four core initiatives to generate rigorous social science research aimed at solving important problems facing society.
On November 15th and 16th, the Tobin Project held events in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. to share and discuss key takeaways from our edited volume Corporations and American Democracy, recently published with Harvard University Press.
On June 1st and 2nd, the Tobin Project hosted a Conference on the History of American Democracy, convening eminent historians, political scientists, and law scholars to discuss the institutions, mechanisms, and social norms that have contributed to the foundation and evolution of American politics and democracy. By drawing from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds and expertise, the Tobin Project seeks to broaden scholarly understanding of how democracy has worked over time and how it might flourish in the future.

The Tobin Project has selected the 2014-15 class for the Graduate Student Forums and Fellowships in National Security and Democracy and Markets. The GSF program provides graduate students doing policy-relevant research related to Tobin’s programs with funding and a group of like-minded students with whom to discuss and improve their work. Our pool of applicants this year was larger and stronger than ever, and we are excited to start working with the students this fall.
