We are seeking top-level candidates with one or more of the following skills and capabilities for full-time roles:
Creative thinking. The Tobin Project constantly experiments with promising new approaches for catalyzing high-impact social science. To build and foster these experiments, we seek innovative thinkers with a demonstrated capacity to develop ambitious, creative, and strategic approaches or solutions to tough problems and to present carefully reasoned plans that persuade decision-makers why and how to adopt these approaches or solutions.
Project management. We anticipate a busy year across our programs, involving a wide range of activities (including, for example, guiding books through publication, organizing academic conferences, and launching new research programs). To help manage these efforts, we seek organized, output-driven candidates with the ability to translate high-level visions into actionable plans and ensure outstanding execution.
Writing. Our strategy depends on clearly communicating our unique model of strategic research development as well as the key findings and significance of the cutting-edge social science research we generate. We seek talented writers who excel at digesting scholarly work, synthesizing seemingly disparate threads, and clearly conveying complex academic concepts in crisp and accessible language.
The Tobin Project accepts applications on a rolling basis. To apply, please e-mail the following materials to opportunities[at]tobinproject.org:
Please note that writing samples constitute important inputs into the decision-making process and will be evaluated for clarity of both reasoning and style.
Compensation and position will be commensurate with experience. Tobin Project employees receive a competitive non-profit salary and generous benefit package.
